The claim
1988 Mein Digital Camera Kahan Se Aaya?
“Perhaps I was the first one to use a digital camera in 1987-88, and at the time very few people had email. There was a rally of Advaniji in Viramgam, Gujarat, and I clicked a picture of him on my digital camera. Then I transmitted the photo to Delhi, and it was published in colour the next day. Advaniji was surprised at how his colour photo got published.”
Reality check
The first digital camera ever sold commercially, the Dycam Model 1, went on the market in 1990, two years after the claimed event. Public email and internet access didn't exist in India at all until VSNL launched the country's first public internet service in 1995. Both technologies described in the claim were unavailable anywhere for ordinary use in 1987-88, let alone at a rally in Viramgam.
A time-travelling digital camera would be a bigger scientific breakthrough than anything else on this page.
